A Better Layout for This Bathroom Renovation

The project began with a full strip-out. We removed the dividing wall between the two rooms, stripped the walls back to brick, and took the ceiling back to the joists. This gave us a clear starting point and allowed us to improve the layout from the ground up.

After that, we levelled the floor and installed a new plywood subfloor. We also levelled the joists and fitted a new plasterboard ceiling. At the same time, we replaced all plumbing and electrics, so the new bathroom had a strong and reliable base.

Microcement Bathroom in Bromley Area Design Details

To keep the room neat and practical, we built custom plywood boxing around both ends of the bath and inside the shower area. We also added recessed shelves, which gave the space useful storage and a clean finish.

Inside the boxing, we fitted a wall-hung Grohe toilet frame to maintain simple lines and a modern look. We also installed a wall-hung vanity unit, which helps the room feel more spacious and makes the floor easier to clean.

The walls were finished in microcement, while the floor was tiled for contrast and durability. For this project, we used Selenita by Relentless Microcement, which gives the room a soft and contemporary feel.
